OutSmart Magazine: Montrose Country Club Blends Luxury and Community in Houston’s LGBTQ Hub
OutSmart Magazine celebrates the opening of Montrose Country Club, calling it an exciting new addition to Houston’s LGBTQ+ social and culinary landscape. Located at 202 Tuam St., this dynamic venue brings together a chef-led restaurant, cocktail-forward dayclub, and a 65-foot year-round pool, all designed with inclusivity, community, and high-style in mind.
Founded by nightlife and hospitality visionary Jeff Harmon—whose previous projects include Halo, ReBar, and Rich’s Houston—the club is positioned as a luxurious but approachable destination. “It’s a country club for everyone,” Harmon says, emphasizing the project’s welcoming energy and connection to Montrose’s culture of creativity, self-expression, and celebration.
The food program, led by Chef Diego Chiarello, reflects a fusion of Italian, Cajun, and Southern flavors with dishes like Crawfish Étouffée Egg Rolls, French Onion Meatloaf, and Shrimp Ceviche, plus desserts like Churro Cheesecake Egg Rolls and Sweet Corn Tiramisu. The kitchen’s flair has already earned attention across Houston’s media landscape—and for good reason.
Beyond the food and design, the venue is also home to a curated social calendar of drag brunches, DJ nights, and themed poolside events—making it not just a restaurant, but a cultural hub for celebration and connection in Montrose.
As the communications partner helping share this launch, SULLTRAIN is proud to elevate venues like Montrose Country Club that speak to the heart of Houston’s evolving identity: diverse, stylish, and proudly rooted in community.
